Goodbye February... Hellooo March!!

I am happy to see March finally come around! That means winter must soon come to an end! Can't wait for warmer weather, chirping birds, running outdoors, and daylight savings! Bring on the longer days!!

The last couple days of February and the beginning of March was great for Michael and I. Busy busy busy! Some of the highlights of the week include: Pickle soup, approving my wedding band molds, closing on the loan to purchase the 18 acres surrounding our home, delicious cake tasting, barn photography, visit with my Dad and little brother, spending time together in the woods, and last but not least... Tucker is FOUR months old!

Pickle Soup from Achatz Soup and Catering! All of their food and soup is delicious... but Pickle soup if one of my favs! I highly recommend anyone in the St. Clair County area try them if you haven't already! They were also one of my sponsors in the Miss Michigan USA pageant in 2011. Gotta support those small town businesses!!

Drum roll please...... after 4 long months of paperwork and patience... Michael and I are officially the owners of the 18 acres surrounding our home! And yes, we have a heart shaped pond! It must mean we have a lot of love on the property! ;) We previously only owned the 2 acres in front and around the house and Michael's Dad owned the remaining behind the house. Although we didn't intend on making this big purchase until after the wedding, we made it work...for now anyways. For the first time in my 25 years of life... I can officially say that I own real estate! Or should I say I'm in debt to real estate?! Either way, we are excited to start the next chapter in our life and creating a future on this land! We already have lots of projects and changes in mind!

One of the big projects Michael has started is improving the deer habitat. We worked on piling brush and clearing another shooting lane in front of the deer blind this weekend. My dad and little brother, Ryan, were up for a visit and checked out the progress. In my dad's words: "Michael's been busting his @** that's for sure." So kudos to Michael for all the hard work! Even though I may not be much help... it's better than no help at all! :)

Who knew that cake tasting would be so fun!? I knew it would be delicious I've heard nothing but good things about Holly and the cake at the Mazure wedding in September was awesome {from what I can remember between the drinks ;)}! We originally were only going to try two different flavors but Holly decided to throw in some extras! After the first three, I was stuffed! Michael finished all six pieces of course! It was ooooh soooo good and I can't wait to have some of our wedding cake!!!! It's going to be beautiful and delicious! She's also making one of our bridal shower cakes, so at least I don't have to wait 4 entire months to have more of her tasty treats!!

After our cake tasting we {for once} didn't have any plans! We decided to take a country cruise and capture some pictures of barns. I enjoy doing that! We seen lots of deer, listened to music, talked about our life goals, captured photos of some random old barns, and seen part of the beautiful sunset. All the while our bellies finally settled from all the yummy cake!

Last but not least.... Tucker is four months old! And he's getting huge!! {He is Michael's mom's puppy, not ours! But I still love visiting him and watching him grow} Tucker likes to play outside and he loves to chew on everything! He has learned to sit, shake, fetch, and starting to speak. Too cute!

Happy March y'all! I hope the start to your month was as great as ours! We're looking forward to another exciting week! :)
