• BBQ Crockpot Chicken •

Crockpot meals are my favorite!
Especially with how much we have been staying in the camper lately!
This is one of my all time favorite and easiest meals to make!

What you need:
Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce - Eyeball the amount. I typically use 1/2 a bottle for 2 breasts.
Vinegar - 1/4C
Red Pepper Flakes - 1TBSP {or more if you like spice!}
Brown Sugar - 1/4C
Garlic Powder - 1tsp.
Mix all above ingredients in the crockpot.
Add chicken breasts.
Cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Serve whole, or shred for pulled BBQ Chicken Sandwiches!

Weekending • Wedding, Family, Offshore Races!

The past weekend was an overload of family time and a little bit of fun!

Prepare for lots of pictures!
My father in law and his fiance, Kelly, just moved back home from Arizona. So Friday night as soon as I got word that they were in the area, I went to visit them at their hotel.
They also brought along Kelly's daughter, Toria, and baby Callie. Callie is 6 months old and I've never meet her because Toria lives in the UP {Upper Peninsula}. Technically, Callie would be my niece {by marriage}. I was so excited to see them all!
Saturday morning I had to work for a couple hours. Then I came home to a house smelling like a skunk. Welll.. since the hubs can't smell, he had no idea. But he did know Sandy was wandering in the grassfield for a long time in the morning. Sure shit, she was the culprit. So guess who had to give her a bath? Not me. I shot my bow a couple times, still trying to get it sighted in. But we were running short on time for getting to our next destination.
We had a wedding for Michael's Dad's side of the family. Which we barely know anyone on that side of the family. But it was still fun! Plus, I got to see Toria and Callie again {& Rick and Kelly}!

Okay girls pics are done, Michael's turn. And this is what he does... as if I take too many pictures or something. Pish posh.

Photobooth of course! Although I was a bit dissapointed with it... You only got one copy of the picture when you went in. So we had to go in there three times just so each of us could have a photo strip! And it was super dark. And there was barely any time to get ready for the next picture. Leave it to me to complain about a damn photobooth. :-)
Next complaint, the hubs irritated me. Every time we go somewhere I am that wife that has to nag about leaving. He never gets the hint. And then I get more and more pissed. Especially when we discuss leaving by a certain time or not staying somewhere for long yet he can't seem to zip his lips. Needless to say, we need to work on our communication skills for leaving public places rather than me turn into a roaring lion in public. Long story short, we left the wedding later than anticipated which made me tired and crabby. Oh, and I was the DD so that was icing on the cake.
Sunday morning we woke up bright and early to head to St. Clair {my hometown} for the Offshore Power Boat Races - aka Riverfest. It's usually a whole weekend of festivities but since we had the wedding on Saturday, we weren't able to. My Mom's salon is in town so she usually has a big cookout/hangout there and we can walk back and forth to the main street. My MIL and her boyfriend also joined us.
My family reserves a couple tables along the river where we watch the races. In between heats we usually take a walk down the strip and look at the vendors and such. Since it was so hot out, we opted for ice cream on our walk. Which turned out to be the most expensive ice cream I've ever had! Maybe I'm just spoiled up in the boonies where you get a huge serving for a couple dollars. But seriously, two scoops cost between $4-$5. What a rip!
Funny story about the races back in the day... My grandpa used to own the marina in town and he had many barges. In fact, his house floated on a barge in the marina. So he had a barge set up with a port a john and picnic tables and we used to load 20-30 people on it and cruise up and down the river on it. It was quite the town entertainment! Those were some good memories. I told Michael, he missed out on the good 'ol days!
Once the races were over, the black rain clouds rolled in and it started storming really bad. We got a bite to eat and headed to the camper. Turns out the storm knocked out the power. And the power is still out as of this morning. *sigh* The expected timeframe for it to be back on is tomorrow. It's a bummer, but we're thankful that the weather is cool enough that ti doesn't matter if the A/C doesn't work.
Speaking of cool weather... it was in the 40s last night and the high today is in the 50s. WHAT THE HELL! Is it July or October?! I'm so confused!
This weekend has it's goods and it's bads. I'd say the goods outweigh the bads by all means!
Happy Tuesday!

Friday Favorites!

What the what?! It's the last Friday in July! I don't wanna like it! Sloooooow down summer, sloooow down!

For the second time this week, I've got a bunch of random mumble jumble!
New product love: DoTerra Shield
About a month ago I decided to try this natural oil in place of bug spray. Honest to goodness, it creates a literal shield around you! Over 4th of July weekend for example, we were all sitting in the back of the pickup and everyone except Michael had put a couple drops on. The bugs were hovering over us. We could see them, but they weren't biting us at all! Except Michael! Ha! Silly husband! Long story short, the shit works and I love it!
New Top
I'm loving this new chevron blouse I purchased the other day from Peebles! Ten dollars, make you holla! :) I love that it's long enough to wear with leggings too!
Self timer for the win! {minus my hair looking like a mullet!}
I have this similar one in pink that I purchased at Peebles last winter too! Love the style and colors in both!

A while ago, I asked my husband for a fence. A yard decor fence for a flower garden. My MIL has one she purchased at a craft show and I love it. He finally started working on it and used some wood we already had {we have a small "shed" that we call the grainery that is stocked with barn wood and other wood from trees that Michael has cut down and planed. It's handy for projects!} which was nice to not have to spend any money! This week I worked on painting it. The furbabies of course always have to be by my side and Sandy girl was of course speckeled in white paint.
The summertime is definitely my favorite weather of the year! It's just so nice to be able to relax outside, do yard work, or just play with the dogs outside. They of course have been enjoying it as well! Even though it really hasn't been quite as warm as it normally is in the summer, it's still enjoyable!

Notice the deadheads off my flowers in between Jack's legs....
Last week Meredith at Belle in Boots posted a pic of her perfect poof pony tail! Her exact words "I did this. And if I can, you can too." So I watched the you tube video she posted and I tried it yesterday since I had a dirty hair/runing late for work kind of morning! It's not perfect but it was a start! Super easy! Who knew?!
I've been seeing some interesting workout videos on social media with  using paper plates on carpet or rags on hardwood floors. I must admit, I find it amusing and I kind of want to try it!
Last but not least... I couldn't resist to share some of the adorable one year pictures I took in our backyard of my friend's little girl this week! She is too stinkin' cute! Although I was a little bummed I didn't get many of her looking straight at the camera because she was more interested in the flowers! :)

Look at those chubby thighs! ♥♥♥
Wooohooo! It's Friday! Have a great weekend!

Confessions & Currently

Lately I feel like life has been whizzing by and I haven't spent much time documenting much of it besides the weekends. I realize there are other people that read this space of mine and could probably care less, however the most important purpose of this blog is for me to document the current happenings in our crazy lives! Don't get me wrong, I love meeting new friends and I love reading every ones sweet comments too!
Here's a whole lot of randomness on my mind lately....
• I confess that I've been pretty antisocial lately. People's stupidity amazes me! Therefore, I'd just rather avoid it. Although 90% of the shit that irritates me happens at work and I can't really avoid that. Which has prompted me to take a few more vacation days in August. Wooo!
• I confess that I have been eating terribly. And I can tell because I feel like crap! I've literally been craving everything bad! Ice cream, chocolates, and deep fried everything! I blame it on  being on the road so much, living in the camper, and of course Aunt Flow...
• I confess that last week I went to Panera bread and I ordered two meals. For myself. Yep. And I ate it all. It was delicious. The southwest chicken flatbread is the bomb! And I've been craving it ever since! It's too bad that there isn't one closer than 2 hours to our house because I'd spend half my paycheck there.
• I confess that I have slight buyers remorse after getting my new bow last weekend. Even though I love it, I can't help but think about the other things we could have purchased for our home.
• I confess that even though I was feeling bad about the money the hubs spent on me.... I still couldn't resist stopping into Peebles on my way home from work. Because I had a coupon! And that couldn't go to waste, duh!! {Sorry Michael... but I only spent $60! And I saved $78!} Three maxi skirts and a pretty chevron blouse! Boom shakalaka!
• I confess that I went to bed at 8pm on Sunday night. I was exhausted and my body was sore all over from fishing and shooting my bow. Now if only I could get that much sleep on a daily basis everyone around me would agree I'm more pleasant!
• I confess that I'm about to slap some bitches. I'm in a wedding along with 7 other women {whom are not my friends besides knowing them through the bride} and only one of them has been willing to do anything or even pitch in money for the bridal shower coming up in 4 weeks. I've been pulling teeth from these broads for the past 4 weeks and it's beginning to piss me off. It's actually to the point where I send them a daily message and remind them that everything is on standstill until they send me money. I REFUSE to watch two of us pay for everything and let them get away with it. Unfortunately, the bride is the only one suffering here. Ain't nobody got time for that!
• I confess that last night I took some 1 year pictures of my friend's beautiful little girl. And it definitely gives me baby fever! Especially for how amazingly well behaved she is! It's not like one of those kids that screams it's head off and makes you not want to have kids ever! haha!

Okay enough confessions... let's talk about current happenings...
As I've mentioned before, Michael started a new job in June. A lot has changed in our lives since he started the new job. Mostly for the good. However the downside is that he was stationed over 3 hours from home and hasn't received the opportunity to transfer closer to home. Therefore, our camper has been parked in my family's backyard and he's been living out of it during the week in efforts to save travel time, gas, miles on the vehicles.
At his old job, he traveled the country and wasn't home for days, sometimes weeks. So even though he's still not able to come home on a daily basis like we wish, it's still nice that he's in the state of Michigan and I have to option of driving to the camper whenever I want.
Sooo... every week {besides this week because I have too much to catch up on around home}, I've been spending 2-3 nights at the camper with him. And commuting 2 hours {one way} to work. It's a lot, but it's nice to have that option. A typically week looks like this:
Monday and Tuesday at home. Tuesday night pack the car.
Wednesday after work go home get the dogs and head 2 hours south. Go out to eat since I have no ambition to cook after all that.
Thursday leave the camper by 6:30AM. Drive 2 hours to work. Work until 4. Drive 2 hours to the camper. Make dinner, enjoy each others company, visit family.
Friday leave the camper by 6:30AM Drive 2 hours to work. Work until 4. Go home. Michael gets out of work, goes to the camper to get the dogs and heads home.
Like I said, it's a lot for us but it's worth it. And honestly, it makes the week fly by! It's especially nice that I'm able to visit my family while I'm in the area. I'm typically back to the camper by 6 which leaves at least 4 hours to hang out or visit family/Michael. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't worth it because I truly love being in the area that I grew up and being so near to my family. Michael tells me thank you every night for driving to see him so much and that lets me know it's worth it for him too!
The furbabies don't seem to mind being at the camper. Whenever we leave home I say, "We're going to the camper!" And they bark and bark full of excitement! Although when I leave them in the camper in the morning, they lay in bed and give me these puppy dog sad faces!
The downside... our vehicles are racking up the miles. Our house in not being cleaned or taken care of as much. Oh well.
The next topic of conversation... we can't help but wonder where the next 3-5 years will take us. Will we still live in our current home? Will we move south? Will I be able to transfer to a different office? Will we be able to afford to keep our house and land and buy a second home? Where will Michael stay in the winter? Soooo many things we think about!
Speaking of vehicles... I've been begging for a new one. It's not going so well for me. But it's been fun looking around just because. Although it's kind of devastating when I find something I really love and then I drive by it every couple days and then the day it was gone off the lot I was pretty bummed. Then I had a dream Michael surprised me with a brand new Tahoe. Can ya tell I'm literally dreaming of a new vehicle?!

Despite all of this driving and eating out, we've been feeling really good financially. Ever since the wedding last year, we've had one thing after another come up {forced to buy land, new roof, new porch, vehicle issues, etc}. Then Michael was laid off over the terrible winter a lot. Which hurt us even more. But ever since he started his new job, we've been able to budget and get a head! Which is such a great feeling!
I mentioned before how Jack had been misbehaving and I started kenneling him. Well I opted out of the kennel and I now have been leaving both of them outside all day when I go to work. The first couple days I was a little nervous that they may run away or chase an animal down the road. But luckily, they were still home when I got there. And we've been doing it ever since. I'm not sure if they like it because they still give me that sad face when I leave. But at least they are getting fresh air and a free range of 20 acres. Although I really don't think they leave the driveway and garage. Oh, and I feel bad for anyone FedEx driver that has to deliver a package because they probably try to bite his legs off. Proof of that being as a package was delivered and literally thrown in the middle of the driveway. Haha!
Phew. That was a heavy post. I feel like I had so much more to say but I'm drawing a blank now. Anyways, that's what's been going on in our neck of the woods lately!
I'm linking up with Kathy for Confessions as well as Leslie for What you Wish Wednesday! :)

Weekending: New toy & fishing!

I've got a case of the Monday's. Even though we didn't do much over the weekend... it was non stop on the go. We weren't home much at all. Which makes the fast arrival of Monday morning seem even worse. Our house needs some serious TLC but who am I kidding, that will always be there! On the plus side, the hubs and I spent as much time together as possible and that's my favorite!
Friday was my first day home from being at the camper all week.
Which meant I had a million things to do.
Michael had the dogs which meant I was lonely {pathetic, I know} and they didn't get home from work/the camper until after dark. {and you know it's late if it's after dark in July because it doesn't even get dark until almost 10!}
After I got some cleaning done and cut the grass, I headed up town to the Hotel {bar} to visit my MIL and get some good eats {bring on alllll the deep fried goods}. The bar was swamped and they were so backed up in the kitchen so I wound up helping for a few hours. Then I stuffed my face with deep fried foods. Ha. Long story short, Friday night wasn't too exciting!
Now Saturday on the other hand... that was pretty exciting! My awesome husband bought me a new toy! A Matthews Monster Chill SDX!
Funny back story.... before we left the house I asked Michael if we could go to a furniture store to look at some bedroom sets {I've been wanting to re do our room for a year now}.... he told me "No... we don't need to spend the money right now."
Notice his priorities here...

So while Michael's bow was getting worked on we decided to look at women's bows just for shits and giggles fun... Then we started asking the guy some questions. Then I started pulling back a couple bows... Then Michael suggested if I really liked one that he would just get it for me today. Of course the one I liked was the brand new 2015 model.... not the $500 one. Ugh!
It was a tough decision. I pondered it for a little bit. Then the associate set it up for me to shoot. Then somewhere along the line we said we'd take it. Funny cause that bow cost just as much {if not more} than the cost of bedroom furniture. I guess ya gotta take what you can get, right?!

We shot quite a bit at the store until our draw lengths and sights were on. Then we finished our errands and had lunch at the Amish barn {delicious!}. We spend the remainder of the evening attempting to sight our bows in. Key word: attempting. My arms were getting so weak and I might have hit my release trigger too soon and decked myself in the face... officially cut off!
Sunday morning bright and early we headed to Port Austin to go fishing with my BIL. It was a beautiful calm morning. Although the guys were complaining that it was too calm that the fish weren't biting. We wound up only catching 5 Walleye. And I reeled them all in. Talk about a weekend of arm workouts! Phew!

Sunday night ended very early! I was exhausted and in bed by 8! Even though it doesn't seem like we did much, we were constantly on the go! Oh, and we ate ice cream both Saturday and Sunday! Ha! Gotta love the summer nights! :) I hope ya'll had a great weekend!
Linkup up with the beautiful Biana who just returned home from an amazing trip to London and Paris! She's got a brief recap up from the weekend so be sure to go see all about it!

♥ 1st Anniversary Weekending ♥

Just like the blink of an eye, our first anniversary has come and gone. As well as another weekend of summer!
SERIOUSLY! Where does the time go??!!?!
I'm glad I was able to take some time off work to relax and spend time with the hubs. He on the other hand wasn't able to get time off work and even had to work the weekend. Womp womp.
Thursday morning I headed south to stay at the camper for the rest of the week. Michael met me there after work. I spent the day running errands and there may have been a nap or two involved when we got back to the camper! I blame that on the rain because we weren't able to be outside. :-)

I took the kids to see my friend whose a vet tech so she could trim their nails. It was nice to visit with her while I was there and very surprisingly, Jack and Sandy were very well behaved! I think it's because they know Janel and they were comfortable.
When Michael got home from work, we had a friend of mine meet us and we went up town to the Sweet Tooth to get some ice cream. This store is amazing!!!  Did I ever mention ice cream is my favorite?!

Friday I spent the entire day at the pool! {Our camper is parked at a family member's house and they allow us to use their pool anytime! bonus!} The hubs worked. My little cousin joined me and the furbabies too.

Friday night when Michael got home from work, we went out for an anniversary dinner at Fore Lakes - the venue/restaurant where we got married!

It was definitely a little crazy to think that just one short year ago we were standing under that gazebo saying "I do"! We enjoyed the scenery, good eats, and drinks! On our way our we were able to visit with the wedding planner that we worked with. She is so sweet!
Saturday the hubs had to work again. So I slept in until 8 and then laid in bed reading a book until the dogs were overly antsy to go outside. I tell ya, they're just like kids!
I wound up making a last minute decision to go to my great Uncle's funeral with my Grandma. My Mom is out of town and she was upset that she couldn't go. So I think it made her feel a little better that I went and that I kept my Grandma company so she didn't have to go alone. It was a little sad to think back to seeing him at our wedding exactly a year prior and there I was sitting at her funeral service.
Afterwards, I headed over to my Aunt's and Uncle's to ride jet ski's. It was a beautiful and hot summer day but daaaamn that water was freezing!

Saturday early evening we finally headed home! We went out to eat for another anniversary dinner and we of course ate our top tier of our wedding cake! Boy was that yummy!! I was surprised at how moist and flavorful it still was!!
Side note: We anticipated going somewhere for our anniversary and then opted out with the hubs starting his new job. We also opted out of getting each other gifts because we have some other things we need to spend our money on {aka - I want a lot of things}. However, Michael definitely gets the credit for thoughtfulness because he got me a sweet card and I got him noooothing! What a shitty wife I am.... ;)

Sunday was a full day of catch-up around the house! Cleaning, laundry, detailing vehicles, gardening, and yard work! And ice cream for dinner after all the work was done! Ha! :)
Silly Jack decided to take a nap under the clothesline
Jack also assisted with working in the garden as usual. He likes to pick the stones. Literally that dog scouts the whole garden for rocks or waits for me to throw them so he can chase them. Weirdo
The first batch of sweet corn is not lookin' so lovely... but the carrots and green beans are filling coming in!
Aaaaand we have some produce!
Just like that, a long 4 day summer/anniversary weekend is gone in the blink of an eye! We anticpated on doing something for our anniversary but with Michael's new job we just weren't able to make it work. All in all, it was perfect and relaxing which was much needed! ♥
Thank you so very much to all of you beautiful ladies for your sweet comments regarding our wedding picture/anniversary post! Y'all make my day and I appreciate the time you take to stop by this little space of mine!
