Thanksgiving Weekend Recap

That's a wrap! A much needed 4 day holiday weekend has come and gone... I'm thankful for every minute of it!
Since it's been a while... I'm linking up with Biana! :)
Tuesday night and Wednesday morning my family headed up to stay for the weekend. Michael and I both had to work but we were off Thursday to Sunday. Which was the first time in 6 months that we have both been off work and home together for more than 2 days! That was enough to be excited about just in itself!
You know what I love about Thanksgiving? The fact that we can eat as much food as we want and no one will judge you because it's Thanksgiving... and also the time that we're able to spend with our family! In our case, this is the 4th year that we have hosted Thanksgiving dinner at our house. I really enjoy just being home and not having to rush around anywhere at a certain time/place. This year went much smoother than last year considering our stove didn't blow up this time. :)
My Mom sent me this comic on Wednesday and I died laughing. Since I couldn't drink with her this year, I definitely felt it was fitting.
However... since I couldn't drink the good stuff, I made sure to stock up on some alcohol removed cocktails!! Thanks to Jessi who informed me of that awesome FRE wine! It's amazing! Although I will admit, it was a slight tease! It taste so much like wine but I could drink the whole bottle and not have any effects.... lol!

The majority of our weekend consisted of catching up on to-do lists, visiting, napping, Christmas decorating, and a little bit of Black Friday shopping!
I made our Christmas Cards on PicMonkey and got them printed off on Wednesday! Addressing envelopes is on my list of things to do this week!

Friday I ventured down to the city and did a little bit of shopping! The main purpose for my trip was to get Christmas shopping done. However, I couldn't pass up a couple deals for myself! Such as this humongous floor mirror, 40% of apparel at Target {hello maternity section}, $1.50 yards of fabric at Joann's, and bras at Victoria's Secret for BOGO 50% off!
While I was down in the city, I decided to surprise my two best friends at their Grandma's funeral. They didn't know I was coming {I live 2 hours away from "home"} and they were pretty shocked to see me walk in! Even though it was an unfortunately circumstance to see them, it was still nice!
Since my Ma was up for the weekend, I asked her to bring her sewing machine so I could attempt to make burp rags for Baby Joy. It's been forever since I've used a sewing machine... but I figured between the two of us we could make it work! They didn't turn out perfect and we made a variety of different sizes before we determined the size we wanted. I bought some really cute girly fabric while I was out shopping so I can't wait to make some more with those!
Ginger always gets extra attention when my sister and cousin are over :)
We had some extra company from Michael's cousins for a couple hours on Saturday. I haven't seen this little munchkin since she was a month old! So cute! Jack liked her too :)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our house!

Jack enjoyed laying by the fire pretty much all weekend. I mean, I don't blame him. Both my Ma and I laid in front of it too. Ha.
I think that about sums up the majority of the weekend! It doesn't seem like much, but we enjoyed every minute of it! Especially the sleeping in every day! :)

Blogland Tour!

Thank you to Jessi for nominating me for a Blogland Tour!
I think these types of posts are great for learning about each other and meeting new bloggers!
First I will start with answering the questions Jessi provided me and then I'll introduce you to 4 of my favorite blogging ladies! Hopefully you'll love them as much as I do and then go check out their pages!!
{Stole this little design from the creative Jessi... because I'm just not that creative! Ha!}
Well.... I'll be honest. I don't plan my posts what so ever. Therefore, I'm not currently working on a darn thing! My posts are typically sporadic and/or based on current life activities. However, I do write down post idea on the notepad in my iPhone when I think of or see a topic that I would like to write about... such as pet peeves, thirty before thirty, etc.
The thing I love about blogging is that everyone lives a different life and writes about different things! I love reading lifestyle and fashion blogs because I find it very intriguing to hear what life is like in other areas of the country! I think my possts differ because I'm one of the few {that I've seen} Michigan bloggers and I'm also one of the few hunting/country livin' girls!
99& of the things I write about are based off our current like {or throwback memories} moments. I choose to write about these types of things because it's basicially an electronic journal that I will hopefully have forever!
As I mentioned in Q #1... I don't really have a plan. I try to be real and post about what we are doing on a day to day or week to week basis. Afterall... my little space is called "Just the Joy's" because that's what it's all about!

It's a GIRL!!!! ♥

Excuse me while I blow up social media with our exciting news from this weekend!!!
Our long anticipated gender reveal finally occurred!!!
It's a GIRL!!!!!!
We are so excited and shocked because we both totally thought it was going to be a boy!
Thanks to my amazing best friend, Kelsey, that help onto the secret envelope for a whole month! Who also happened to make the awesome confetti poppers - created, printed, wrapped, designed, everything! By hand herself!!! Impressive!

And also to my dear friend, Shanell, that captured the special moment in pictures worth 1,000,000,000 words!!!!
*** All photo credit goes to Shanell Photography ***

We took the pictures in my Grandma Julie's back yard with very few close family members. It had rained all morning and scattered showers were in the forecast, but it turned out to be perfect! The weather even warmed up to 50 compared to the low 20's we were in all week!
Michael and I are SO excited about our baby girl! One of Michael's first comments was about guns, no boys allowed on our driveway, and "God, I hope she's not just like her Mom!" Bahahahaha! Cracks me up! A mini Julie in the world!!! ♥♥♥
Thank you everyone for your sweet comments and well wishes!

Favorites ♥ {New pickup + Clothing + Gender Reveal Anticipation!}

Wooo! It's Friday! I'm completely delarious and running on 5 1/2 hours of sleep... yet I'm so happy I can't even complain about a damn thing!
One & Two
New pickup & Jacket
First of all, I'm extremely excited that the hubs did go through with the pickup he looked at last week and we went to pick it up last night! I am in love with it! It is honestly like heaven compared to the old pickup! The biggest plus - no more stick shift for this lady! I will never miss that! I'm so thankful to have an amazing husband that provides me and the baby this safe {and stylin'} new ride! :)
As I mentioned on my Christmas wish list... I want a long parka jacket! Although this isn't the one that I have on my wish list, I couldn't pass it up! On sale at Macy's from $250 to $99! It is sooo warm! I love it! I highly suggest a long jacket for anyone who lives in the tundra cold like I do!
Buck or Doe - Gender Reveal
Thank you to everyone's sweet comments and predicitions on Wednesday regarding the gender reveal of the little bundle of Joy! In case you missed it, here's a few old wives tale predictions! I am beyond excited for this weekend! Today my dear friend, Kelsey, delivered this adorable bag with the confetti popper's that will deliver the special answer! Isn't it the cutest?! The little poem she wrote made me cry! She's awesome!

Gender Reveal Outfit
Speaking of the gender reveal... I did some shopping yesterday looking for a damn belt to go with my shirt for the reveal. Of course it just wasn't working out in my favor. So I came to the conclusion of this necklace with a slight pop of color rather than my plain gold necklace I was previously debating on wearing. Thank you again for all of your lovely opinions and help with my outfit! :)
Touch Screen Gloves
I lost a pair of my touch screen gloves. So while I was at Target searching for belts and such, I picked up these babies for a whopping $3! They aren't thick gloves by any means... but they work great and serve the purpose!

Jack has been awfully lovey and cuddly this week. This was our bonding time this morning as we sat on the couch eating breakfast. ♥

Have a great weekend!!!!

Buck or Doe?! ♥ Soon we will know!

With our gender reveal being 4 short days away... I've made up a list of some old wives tales that supposedly lead to conclusions of what the gender is!
Just for fun, I'd love to hear your opinion!
I've also included the recent bump photos for those who like to guess based on the "appearance"! :)
** The first 14 weeks I dreamt it was a boy. Since then, I've dreamt that the Dr. says it's a girl and it comes out a boy. Reoccurring dream. Weird. **
** I say yes and no for morning sickness because during the first trimester I was really nausea in the afternoon. Although I never physically got sick. Some say it's a different in if you physically get sick or not... **

Michael and I both think it's a boy. Regardless, we don't care either way! We are just thankful to be expecting and we pray for a healthy little one whether it be a buck or a doe! ;)

Christmas Wish List ♥

Linking up with Cheers Ya'll for some Christmas list fun!

This year, the hubs and I agreed to not do gifts for each other considering the little bundle of joy on the way... we both agreed that we would instead spend our Christmas money on the little one! So I think that makes it easier to accept no gift exchange! :)
I still came up with a small list of things that Santa may decide to show up with! ;)
1. I've been searching for the perfect head warmer... I wouldn't complain about this adorable Turban knot band from ADORNit
2. Electric Griddle - We could really use one of these for camping when we don't want to cook inside the camper and/or the fire!
3. Definitely can't have too many of these bad boys... Maternity Jeans
4. House décor/flags for my yard décor poles
5. DKNY Fur Hooded Parka {in Cabernet color}
6. Velvet hangers {I'm trying to convert over to all thin velvet ones - space saving and less shirts falling}
7. Closet organizer for the little bambino's room! {thanks to some Pinterest inspiration!}
I find that if I make a list of things in the Notes app on my phone throughout the year that I "want" but that I don't want to spend the money on, it helps me come up with ideas come the holiday season.
What are some gifts that you are asking for?!

Weekend Recap: Opening Day + Shopping + Lazy Day

Wooo! Two weekends in a row that have been some what lazy... I'll take it!
Friday night didn't consist of anything besides dinner and an early bed time. Had to get plenty of rest to wake up early for hunting!
When the alarm went off at 5am Saturday morning, I surprisingly didn't want to smash the alarm. I was excited to go out hunting and then to go look at a pickup in the afternoon!
It was opening day of gun season and there was just a light dusting of snow on the ground. Which should make for a decent morning of deer movement. We headed out to the deer blind around 6am and waited for day break.

Unfortunately, being pregnant, it's very hard to sit for too many hours without having to pee... so after 2 1/2 hours, I was about to burst. And that didn't include the time it takes to walk all the way back up to the house. So I started to beg the hubby to head in. He wasn't thrilled about that. So.. we headed out of the blind and didn't shoot anything on opening day.
Saturday also begins our 21st week of pregnancy!
I'd say the best news of the weekend was that we did wind up going to look at the pickup that Michael checked out on Thursday. On Thursday night he told me he was buying it. I was pretty shocked when he told me that but at the same time, I knew we were on the same page for what we wanted. So he wanted to take me to look at it to be sure I liked it since it's for me, and also to see what they would give us as a trade in value on Michael's Dodge.
After 3 hours of driving, and then 2 hours of bartering... we decided to purchase it and Michael signed the dotted line! They didn't give us exactly what we wanted for our trade in, however finding a 3/4 ton diesel pickup that was fully loaded turned out to be much harder to find than we thought it would be so we decided it was worth it. Michael says I'm spoiled... I said nah, I'm just well taken care of ;)
New on the left, Old on the right! Can't wait to go get it this week!
After we spent a small fortune on a pickup, I somehow talked Michael into going to Babies' R Us to look at furniture for the nursery. We didn't really intend on buying it while we were there... however they had a 25% off sale going on and we didn't really want to pass that up! We decided on a Walnut rustic convertible crib and a dresser. They didn't have this one in store so hopefully we love it just as much when it's delivered!

Look how thrilled the hubs is to be in babies r us...
On this lazy little Sunday afternoon...
We woke up to the first official ground covered in snow!
And then the remainder of the day was pretty much spent like this...
And lastly, I'm looking for some outfit advice for our gender reveal photoshoot this coming weekend! Don't mind my brown comfy pants... I won't be wearing those! But I will be wearing this top and I'm undecided on the scarf or the necklace. I'm also debating on looking for a belt to wear so it accents the bump rather than looking like I just have extra large boobs and mid section. Ugh! Help!!

Hope yall had a great weekend!
