What's new -> Confessions..

What's New With You

Today I'm linking up with Kristen and Gretchen. I haven't done a confessions post in a while... so here's what's new in my neck of the woods converted into confessions!

I confess...

... I've been trying to get rid of things we don't need/use/declutter in hopes to have less stuff to move and I can't bring myself to part with clothes and shoes. Why is it so hard?!

... Even though I'm a SAHM, I've decided to start sending Remington back to daycare (actually a friend of the family's house) a few days a month starting next week. I feel kind of silly and guilty for doing it but I know it will be good for her to get some social interaction with kids and it will be good for me to get a break and have some time to get something done without her hanging on my leg all day.

... I love Remington to pieces and I love that she always wants to be attached to my leg/hip, however it's super frustrating and exhausting. If she has my full attention she's happy as pie. If I attempt to do anything else, game over.

... I'm an amateur blogger. Pictures, sharing links, updating my page (because I'm too cheap to pay someone to do it), using affiliate links, etc... I'm always relying on google to help a sister out! Or Amanda! She's got some awesome tips and tricks, too!

... Sometimes I don't wash my hair for 4-5 days. Just depends on if I have to actually see people or not. Sometimes I don't even bother using dry shampoo either. Why waste it if no one is going to see me anyways?! #imsexyandiknowit

... if I don't have to see people or go anywhere, I typically don't get dressed. I shower. But I just put on sweat pants/hood shirt/t shirt of some sort. Dirty hair and sweat pants daily are a good combo, right?!

... if it's cold/snowing/raining outside and I don't have plans to go somewhere, I don't have the desire to walk alllll the way down the driveway to get the mail. And I'm certainly not starting the vehicle to drive to the mailbox. Bills aren't important anyway. #lazy #hermit

... Sometimes I can't help but wonder if people's lives are truly as "perfect" as their social media posts appear to be...

... I have a pair of Coach boots that Jack chewed up 2 years ago but I refuse to throw them away. I paid like $200 for them and they are my favorite. Needless to say I still wear them even though they are chewed up. I'm sure I look really classy.

... I can't bring myself to get out of bed in the morning until I absolutely have to. AKA, when Remington wakes up. I always "think" about setting an alarm and getting up early to have some time to myself.. but that never happens.

... I'm doing terrible at my "goal" of meal planning. I have zero desire to cook and wash any more dishes than necessary.

... I avoid dishes as much as possible by using paper plates. So in other words, I use paper plates more often than regular plates.

... I took my Spring d├ęcor out and realized I have one thing.

... When I'm exercising and Remington starts getting crabby or getting in the way, I easily call it quits. Oh, yep. She's crying. I'm done.

... I am already slightly nervous about labor with baby #2 as well as how the hell I'm going to survive with a new born and a monster 16 month old.

... My house typically looks like a tornado went through it.

... I've been pinning ideas for Remington's birthday for months. And somehow I've gotten lost in the "ideas" and now I'm at the stage of procrastination! I only have a month left to get everything prepared!

... my jaw hits the floor when I click on a blogger's link for a "great deal" and it's a $200 purse or a $75 top. Umm.... that's not my kind of bargain shopping! (no offense to those ladies.. I'm just too poor for that!)

What's new with you?!

  1. girl, you deserve that time to yourself! and it would definitely be good for her to be around other kids, i reckon.

if i know no-one will see me, i don't do anything either. why bother? kc is like wow.. you look.. different. i'm like shut up. haha.

pssssh no-one's life is perfect! legit, no-ones. i don't even reckon beyonce's is perfect.

hahahaha at you wearing chewed up boots. i would too if i paid that much!

and seriously... i don't link to anything i can't afford myself. if i wouldn't buy it, i don't post about it. anything over $50 is basically a rip off to me.

thanks so much for linking up with us girl!

  2. I think having time to yourself and letting sweet lil girl mix with other kids is a great idea. Don't let anyone make you feel guilty. I don't have a kid and I still end up in sweats unless I have to go outside, why not just be comfy!?

  3. Don't feel bad lady! You deserve some alone time - everyone needs it and I'm sure she will love being around some other kids those few days :) And AMEN about the expensive links! I'm always wondering how these bloggers afford $200 dresses and $500 purses and have new clothes in like every post?? My kind of shopping is at the Express outlet store where I get a shirt for $10 haha!! xx

  4. I definitely would not feel bad about sending Remi to day care even though you're a SAHM. It's good for both of you! And girl, if I don't have to go anywhere or see anyone I don't shower, let alone get out of my jammies! haha.

  5. Love your confessions! I found your blog through the linkup and I'm a Midwestern girl, too! (from MN). Can't wait to follow!

  6. You totally shouldn't feel guilty about sending Remington to day care! It's good for you to have some alone time and it's good for her to not always have mom around! And you aren't alone. I sometimes go for 4-5 days without washing my hair. So much work LOL.

  7. I'm currently doing a closet clean-out and was having the same problem parting with clothes (in my case dresses) until I saw that my friend was collecting formal wear for a high school prom. I've had so many great memories in some of those dresses, and thought that someone else should be able to have that opportunity too. This really helped me let go of them. Well that, and trying a few on and realizing they no longer fit lol.

I'm currently rocking 4 day unwashed hair. #sexygirlsunite

  8. I think it's a great idea for Remington to learn social skills! Plus, time for yourself is a must! Is it bad that I work 4 days a week and only wash my hair every four or five days? I mean, it's not that greasy until the last day. There's this one blog that I've pretty much stopped following because the "great deals" they find. I just can't even relate to that. A good deal for me? 40% off at Old Navy or buy one get one 50% off at Target.

  9. I'm also decluttering like crazy because I hate moving and want to make it as painless as possible. Hopefully it'll be an easy and pain free process :) Thanks for linking up!

  10. I love decluttering too! Although sometimes it is SO hard to give something up, even though I never use it haha!

  11. Haha, I love this post! I was laughing the whole through. Lately, I can relate to a lot of these thing. And I think it's good for Remington to spend a few days away from mom. She will learn social skills and you can get some time for yourself... Win win!

  13. I can literally get rid of anything that isn't clothes, shoes or purses...what is wrong with me?! People's lives are not as picture perfect as they are on social media...I for one only like to put the good up there because I want to see the good for everyone else...we all have real life and it's nice to have a break when scrolling through instagram! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  14. I am with ya on how some bloggers live. I would choke and die if I bought Tory Burch sandals for $200 (just saw that on one blog)!! However, part of me lives vicariously through these ladies, haha!! You will do just fine with 2. I really thought the hardest transition was from 0-1. #2 and 3 were a piece of cake! And that's with a very needy #2!!

And as far as people being "perfect" I'm gonna go with they just chewed ass on their kid to sit and smile nice, lol!!! Just kidding....maybe.
