OUR LOVE STORY

~ How we met ~

You can never really envision how or when you're going to meet the person who you will share the erst of your life with, until it actually happens...

Michael and I met in February of 2010 at a Quality Deer Management Banquet. Michael is a member of QDMA and I was attending the event as a volunteer (thanks to my Dad who talked me into it). My Dad had mentioned that I may find "a dream guy" at this event. On the other hand, I was not looking to date let alone meet anyone.

There were over 300 men in the hall and I happen to catch eyes with one of them from the moment he walked in the room. I was bound and determined to meet this good looking guy with a smile worth a million dollars. He claims that he was too shy and intimidated to talk to me, but we eventually had a casual conversation. Turns out we had a lot in common! He invited me out for a drink after the banquet but my Dad said no.... how embarrassing ! Before we went out separate ways, we exchanged numbers and agreed to get together sometime. He text me later that evening and we've never went a day without each other ever since!

~ Don't find love, let love find you. That's why it's called falling in love... because you don't force yourself to fall, you just fall. ~

Getting engaged and planning a wedding has been one of the best moments in my life! I look forward to what the future holds for Michael and I!

The Proposal {11.11.11}

Michael and I had several conversations about our future and both agreed there wasn't really a hurry. Although I had dropped MANY hints! Michael always blew it off and seemed to be against the idea of getting married. Therefore, the thought of being engaged or planning a wedding seemed so far away.

On Friday, Novemeber 11, 2011, before I even left work to head home, Michael sent me a text to ask when I was going to be home and insisted that I called him when I was getting close. I asked him several times why he wanted to know and told him he should know by now when to expect me to be home. That wasn't good enough. He needed to know my exact whereabouts and my ETA. I started to get upset with him because I didn't know what the big deal was all about. I did think it was strang that he was so concerned... but the thought never crossed my mind that he would be setting up 50 candles and a proposal...

Since my drive to and from work at the time was 75 miles one way, he must of been pacing around the house because he continued to contact me the entire drive home. He seemed so calm. He told me all sorts of stories about how he went hunting and he seen a nice buck and blah blah blah... turns out that was all just a cover up!

When I pulled in the driveway, the house was dark {one of my biggest pet peeves}. So I was sure to send him a text message as soon as I drove up the driveway that I was not coming into a dark house. His smart allick response back? "Come on in, there's lots of lights on!". By this point, I was irritated with whatever he had up his sleeve. I knew something was up when I opened the garage door and the dogs did not come running. Instead, there was a lane of candles and rose pedals leading through the house. I slowly followed the path only to find Michael standing in front of theh fireplace. On the table was a heart shpaed cake {he baked it and made frosting from scratch}, flowers, and more candles. We talked for a few minutes and I thanked him for such a nice surprise. I also apologized for the attitude about all his questions and remarks! At this point, I still wasn't expecting anything considering he had been gone at work for two weeks and I assumed he was being romantic. I started to get down on one knee and said "Well no sense in wasting any more time..." I immediately started crying. Then he popped the question! All I really remember him saying was "Julie Ann..." Michael says I took at least 6 minutes to respond. I think I was still in shock! He asked if I was going to answer his question or look at the ring. My response was something like "YES! Oh my gosh! YES YES YES! I don't even care what the ring looks like, YES!"

Eleven is my lucky number... therefore Michael proposed on 11/11/11. Kudos to Michael for putting all the thought and effort into such a special day! I thought he was hunting and enjoying his day off after being gone at work for two weeks, when he was really out buyinig flowers, candles, baking a cake and making homemade frosting! How sweet!

The BIG Day! ~ July 12, 2013 ~

After lots and lots of planning, we finally shared our vows and celebrated with our friends and families! It was a beautiful Friday afternoon! Our theme was a rustic woodsy slash "The hunt is over" type thing. I had to have alittle pink in there though! Which brought out the elegance in all the wood and outdoors stuff. It was everything I wanted and more! I am truly blessed to be married to this handsome guy!

. The Honeymoon ~ Alaska .

Shortly after we set the wedding date, we went forward with booking our honeymoon to the Great Land of Alaska! Based on some research that Michael did, July is one of the best months to go to Alaska. Which is why we got married in July! The trip was ahhhhhh-mazing! I would highly recommend everybody and their brother to go to Alaska! It's such a breathtaking place! The scenery and wildlife is just extraordinary! We had a fabulous time!

Our cruise began in Vancouver, British Columbia. We sailed to Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, College Fjord, Glacier Bay, and ending in Whittier. Some of the excursions we participated in were ziplining, underground gold mining, Iditarod dog sledding, glacier tours, Totem Park tour, and a Great Alaskan Lumberjack show! If we were to do it again, we would definitely take more time to tour further north and see the land. Maybe do some fishing or hunting and we would definitely go to the Denali National Park!
